Beating the champions

Manchester United’s 2-1 win at Liverpool has obviously sparked plenty of stats and figures but one element of the sweet victory has been the fact it was achieved at the home of the current champions.

Due to our success by the same scoreline away to Manchester City last season, in Ruben Amorim’s first derby, Opta have noted the significance of our head coach pulling off such huge results in the big games.

For a bit of context, it is the first time United have beaten the defending English champions on the road in back-to-back league seasons since 1907/08.
